Application
The application is intended to determine if you are a good fit for our organization. It will ask you to consider our core values of service, spirituality, sustainability, and intentional community. We are seeking applicants who are ready to make a year-long commitment to an organization in our community while also living out the values of our organization. We encourage anyone interested in the experience to apply.
All applications received after that will be considered on a case-by-case basis if placement site matches are still available.
Interview
Applicants will interview with an LSC board member and/or the executive director. The interview will be an opportunity to learn more about your interests and experiences and to share with you some possible placement sites that may be available at that time. The interview will take place over the phone or using an online video communication platform. After the interview, applicants will be notified if they have been accepted into the program as volunteers.
Matching Process
Once accepted into the program, volunteers will begin the matching process. Based on the interview and the needs of the nonprofit community, applicants will be connected with a local nonprofit to interview for their position. If everyone agrees that the match is appropriate, volunteers will sign a contract to commit their organization and LSC for the entire service year.
Program Start Date
The service year will begin in August 2023 and run until mid-July 2024. Volunteers will move into Hillstrom House at 6220 N. 30th St., Omaha, NE 68111 for orientation a week before they begin work at their placements sites.
